Thornaby hosted mid table Alnwick town boosted by the good win at home to Durham city last week and manager Paul Burton kept an unchanged side with Gary Mitchell being included on the bench after injury.
Thornaby nearly took the lead on 11 minutes when Karl Charlton saw the Alnwick keeper off his line and his lone shot just went wide of the post with the keeper stranded, a minute later James Rowe had a shot blocked on the line and Alnwick cleared upfield.
Against the run of play Alnwick took the lead on 42 minutes when a cross was headed home by striker Liam Brooks to make it 1-0 at the interval.

The second period saw the home side come even more into the game and Karl Charlton got on the end of an through ball from Lee Bythway and rounded keeper Sam Bouttell to level the score after 51 minutes .
The home side brought on sub Nathan Evans who started to get forward , however after 72 minutes an shot was parried by home keeper Gibbs and Brooks forced the ball home from close range to make it 2-1 to Alnwick

Alnwick cleared the ball from a Thornaby corner to the taker full back Mitchell Morris and from the long cross C*M shot the ball sailed over keeper’s Bouttell head to level the score 2-2
The pressure was on the visitors from Thornaby attacker who had a number of chances to win the game but had to settle for an point, which takes them go above Crook Town and slowly rising up the league table.
