Thornaby entertained second top Durham at Teesdale park and after 20 minutes an shot by Ben Jackson was well saved by Dan Gladstone , the visitors had a lot of possession without causing Liam Gibbs much problem , Lee Bythway and Stuart Brown were dealing well with attacks , After 35mins the home side were building pressure and Karl Charlton had a shot on the turn well saved by Dan Gladstone , it came as no surprise when Karl Charlton opened the score after 40 minutes with a strong left foot drive.

The second half saw the visitors get more into the game and an good goal brought the equaliser through Jeremy Hird on the hour . However Thornaby had renewed confidence and after an ball by Stephen Gamble to Lewis Green hit an firm shot past Gladstone which proved to be the winner, in an hard fought battle which moved Thornaby above Willington
