Thornaby had a great start when in the 3rd minute Thornaby were awarded a free kick on the left edge of the box and Kallum Hannah hit a powerful drive into the top corner of the net.
From then on Thornaby let themselves down with some poor passing and unable to put the ball into a resultant Chester Le Streets defensive goal.
Some undisciplined tackling saw Chester Le Street get their first of two Penalty kicks the first in the 26th minute, when defender Morrison was penalised for a foul on Michael Hepplewhite, who soon got up and convert the penalty make the score level.
Thornaby tried hard to get back in front but Chester Le Street stood firm then on 39 minutes Chester Le Street took the lead again from the spot when a poor pass from Matthew Robinson to Taylor Crainey resulting in Michael Hepplewhite winning the ball and Crainey was penalised for bringing down Hepplewhite inside the box. Hepplewhite’s spot kick was saved by keeper Oliver Simpson but it bounced off him and Hepplewhite put the rebound into the net as Thonaby’s defence looked on.

Chester defended superbly in the second half to deny Thornaby as they continued to put pressure on their goal but again Thornaby could not score, Chester Le Street nearly got a third in the 90th minute when a loose ball in the Thornaby goal area found Joshua King who headed down to Daniel McGuire but his shot went just wide of the post.
A great performance from Chester Le Street’s defence and a poor result from Thornaby’s saw all three points going to the away team .
