Match report

Northallerton Town 1-2 Thornaby FC   Thornaby travelled to top of the table Northallerton Town with Town winning there last match against West Allotment Celtic away 2-1 While Thornaby beat Darlington RA 2-0 in the previous match.  Thornaby made 3 changes with Paddy Pisani replacing Oliver Simpson in goal, Jordan Wilson back for Matthew Robinson who was away due to work and new Signing Josh Simpson replacing Dominic Tiffany.  Northallerton had the first effort with 4 minutes gone when Chris Dickinson's free kick from the right hand side just outside the penalty area just went over the bar. The blues then had there first chance of the match when the home side gave the ball away and Kurtis Howes just fired the ball just past the post. Allerton had the next chance when Shaun Hudson laid the ball to Stephen Cheesman who fired just past the post.  Half Time Score Northallerton Town 0-0 Thornaby FC  Northallerton took the lead when SHAUN HUDSON cut in front the right hand side of the penalty area and his effort curled past Pisani into the net with 64 minutes gone. Although just 2 minutes later when Kurtis Howes got to the byline and was fouled inside the penalty area with Referee Tim Craig pointing to the spot. It was Thornaby captain KALLUM HANNAH who stepped up to convert to the keepers right with Tom Dawson going the right way. Thornaby then almost took the lead when Joe Scaife Wheatley's corner was flicked on to Kurtis Howes with his effort being saved right on the line by Dawson. Thornaby then made it 2-1 when Kallum Hannah played the ball to sub JOE HILLERBY who beat the offside trap and rounded Dawson and tapped home with his left foot with 74 minutes gone. Nothing was seen of Northallerton from a attacking point of view and if anything Thornaby looked more likely to increase the lead when Joe Scaife Wheatley's clever switched ball found Joe Posthill who ran forward but seen his effort well blocked by Dawson in the home goal. More good play found Joe Scaife Wheatley unmarked but he could only blaze over the bar. Thornaby had the final effort when Joe Posthill hit his effort saved by Tom Dawson.  Man of the match: Jordan Wilson
