Thornaby Looked to improve at home on Saturdays (0-1 Win) away at Brandon, and they did not disappoint their fans with a great display of football, both side were attacking from the start, with Thornaby playing their new signing Charlie Marshall and Michael James in at the start, as Grier, and Bailey missing through injury.
The game was very even until the 26th minute Stephen Morrision took the ball out from defence and passed the ball to Marshall in midfield, he then played the ball back to him and he cut into the box and fired into the bottom corner of the net to put Thornaby In front.
Heaton Stannington nearly equalised in the 33rd minute when Laidler and Jones set up Hoggins but his left foot volley drifts wide of Thornaby’s goal.
On 42 minutes Thornaby doubled their lead, this time it was Morrison who put Ben Jackson through for him to fire home from the edge of the box.
In the second half both teams played some very attractive football but no further goals were added and Thonaby fully deserved a great 2 – 0 win.
