Thornaby welcomed struggling Esh Winning to Teesdale Park with the winners going into the Quarter Final.
Their was no Sonny Andrews (cup tied), Curtis Edwards, Craig Ruddy, Lee Bythway, Sean Davies (injured) for the hosts with Richard Walker, Kieran Edwards, Gary Mitchell, Michael Joseph and Gary Mitchell all back in the starting line up. It was the hosts who started the brightest and had the first chance off the match after 5 minutes when Gary Mitchell fired into the hands off Esh Keeper Elliott Hogg and Mitchell had the following effort which he fired wide after being realised by Nathan Steel. Esh had their first effort off the night when Graham Nathan's volley from just outside the box went straight into the hands off Boblowski.
Thornaby thought they had taken the lead when Michael Joseph's fantastic cross from the right found the head off Nathan Steel but it was ruled out for offside.
Then just minutes later Rocky Andrews cross from the right found Nathan Steel 8 yards out and his header just went past the post. The home side almost took the lead in Fortunes circumstances when Matthew Robinson's cross hit the crossbar. Esh had the next effort when Adam Ward fired wide from outside the box. Thornaby had the final effort off the first half when Gary Mitchell's overhead kick went over the bar.

Esh had the first effort off the 2nd half when Ben Clarke's overhead kick went wide. Thornaby had their first chance off the 2nd half when Nathan Steel was played in but only put it straight into the hands off Hogg. Matthew Robinson's cross moments later found Steel who headed wide.
The hosts really started to influence the match when firstly Sub Theo Furness effort from the left hand side just went past the post and then moments later Kieran Edwards left footed effort was superbly tipped over the bar by Hogg. Esh then took the lead in added time (93rd minute) when Clarke had seen his low effort superbly saved by Boblowski but the ball broke out to the left hand side where the cross found DANIEL MANN whose poked effort trickled off the post and went into the net.
Thornaby straight away from the off almost levelled when Steel seen his effort superbly saved by the impressive Hogg and the ball fell back to Stephen Butterworth whose effort hit the post. Esh managed to somehow make it 2-0 when Mann played in LUKE HOGAN who sealed the match with 95 minutes gone.
