The Club as we know it today was formed in 2000, formerly Stockton FC. Using a cricket field as grounds, we struggled to gain our footing due to the poor quality of our facilities. relegated to Northern League Division Two, we were left to fight our way back.
Over this 7 year window, Thornaby FC placed 20th in 08/09 and reached the quarter final of the Ernest Armstrong Second Division Cup, being beaten by the eventual victors. In 09/10 we reached the final of the same cup, only to be beaten in extra time. After changes of management and a hard few years, Thornaby FC ended season 2014-15 placing 7th, the highest we had placed in several years.
The years 2015 - 2019 were a time of great developments for Thornaby FC. The grounds, seeing widespread development, improved dramatically. In 2014 the club were awarded the Northern League Hospitality Award, and with all these improvements came success on the pitch too. In season 2018-2019 we placed 2nd in 20 and were promoted back to the Northern League Division One.
Now that we've arrived in 2022, Thornaby FC are hoping to round off the current season as best as possible and look on to next season with a competitive, ambitious spirit.
